Bad luck for the tremendous terrorists FARC in Colombia. They pretended to rob 200 million pesos (about 100.00 dollars) from a bank and only could grab a million (about 500 dollars), in coins, according to the country’s daily El Tiempo. This all happened in the village Caloto, in the north of the department Cauca (South Colombia), where the sixth front of the FARC has a strong presence.
According to El Tiempo they were at least 20 guerrillas who assaulted the bank. With a bomb they destroyed it, but not its safe. Only from a ‘help safe’ they could steal the coins.
The money in the main safe is meant for poor people who are supported by the government programme Familias en Acción. They couldn’t go for their money because of the damage caused to the bank and its closure afterwards.
Bad Robin Hoods, the FARC. Instead of helping the poor they make it impossible for them to get their money. They will surely not distribute the coins among the poor peasants.
And why do they try to rob a bank? Do the old means of extortion and drugs trade not work anymore?
