Looking for Evo Morales

My journey through Bolivia has almost finished and there is only one frustration: we (the photographer René Clement and I) have not been able to get an appointment with president Evo Morales to interview him.

We have been travelling through the highlands and done a story on the lithium, in the salt ‘lake’ of Uyuni. We have been to the Tinku Festival in Macha, 4 hours from the town of Potosí. Very colourful and interesting. Tinku means meeting in Quechua and the meeting means making music and fight, until blood feeds the earth or Pachamama.

In the meantime we have been trying to contact mr. Morales’s spokesman Iván Canelas, in vain. We have been trying indirectly through contacts of his. Nothing.

But I will not give up, mr. Morales. No resignaré, Evo. Regresaré. I will come back.

Good luck in the meantime, Evo and so long.
